After the jubilee of the 800th anniversary, the Chapter decided to open the Cathedral as a place of relaxation. Why? Because they are convinced that the ‘Good Lord’s Lantern’ has a mission to breathe new life into our fellow citizens and enlighten them.

If you need some time for reflection, meditation and spirituality, or you have the desire to share or meet people, the Cathedral is the emblematic place for the city of Metz and our diocese. It exposes you to the light, faith and culture.

In this way, without restricting ourselves with inflexible schedule or to a closed cycle, we gather depending on the available opportunities, so we may enjoy the wisdom offered to us together. The Book of Proverbs tells us: ‘Blessed are those who find wisdom’ (Proverbs 3, 13).

Entry is, of course, free. To keep your attention, we project images on a big screen, sometimes accompanied with music. The length is intentionally short: around an hour and 15 minutes.
